Generosity and a spirit of collaboration came to the forefront on August 23, when the Lions Clubs of Ashby and Dalton arrived at Ashby, equipped with a wide array of supplies for teachers. These high-use items were thoughtfully selected, keeping in mind the likelihood that they would be exhausted rapidly.
Teachers were welcomed with coffee and caramel rolls as they picked out what they needed for their classrooms from tables stacked with necessities. Items ranged from Kleenex, Clorox Wipes, and Ziplock bags, to pens, pencils, markers, folders, snacks, notebooks, and more.
