Harmony Lodge 230 in Herman initiated Daniel Bailey-Kloos into its Independent Order of Odd Fellow (IOOF) membership on Tuesday, April 2.

Bailey-Kloos is the fourth generation Kloos to become a member of this lodge.

He chose this specific year to become a member, because his great grandfather, P. H. Kloos, became a member in 1924, exactly 100 years ago.

Daniel’s father Robert Kloos is currently the Noble Grand and provided Daniel the membership application. Daniel’s grandfather, the late Dan Kloos, was an active member of Harmony Lodge 230 and performed many times in its quartet, providing comforting music at the IOOF funeral rites.

Daniel is currently 18 years old, a senior in high school and a member of his band, 4-H and track team. Following initiation, the lodge gave Daniel a most heartfelt welcome to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, which supports its symbol, three links representing its motto “Friendship, Love & Truth.”
