The Elbow Lake City Council convened on August 7 to discuss various community matters, including potential grant opportunities, a message of gratitude, and plans for infrastructure development.
Potential Grant for Tree Replacement
The council discussed the possibility of obtaining a grant from the Department of Natural Resources to replace trees that had fallen due to storms and the emerald ash borer. The trees initially under consideration are located at Tipsinah Mounds Campground. However, questions were raised about whether the grant could extend to cover more trees within the city. Further inquiries and information gathering were deemed necessary.
Mayor’s Thanks to City Workers
Mayor Deb Hengel took the opportunity to express official gratitude to the city workers who contributed to making Elbow Lake look its best for Flekkefest, an annual community celebration. Their efforts contributed to a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
