Travis Olson, representing the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus, (MGOC) asked the Grant County Board of Commissioners to pass a resolution naming Grant County a Second Amendment Sanctuary county.
According to the MGOC, Second Amendment Sanctuary refers to counties, townships, cities or other localities in Minnesota that have adopted resolutions to prohibit or impede the enforcement of gun control legislation such as universal background checks, red flag laws, assault weapon bans, magazine restrictions, or other gun-control legislation at the state legislature. The MGOC considers such legislation to be unconstitutional.
