Hoffman city council members are working with Widseth, a local engineering firm, to redesign Veterans Park. A recent survey gathered feedback from residents, identifying key amenities desired in the updated park. The council reviewed these results in a meeting on July 8.
City Clerk Janee Strunk reported the survey results, highlighting the top priorities. Restrooms topped the list with 83 votes, followed by a playground with swings receiving 73 votes, and a multipurpose picnic shelter garnering 64 votes. Other popular amenities included a basketball court, parking, and pickleball courts.
During the meeting, Councilmember Scott Anderson expressed support for Plan B, which includes many of the requested amenities such as pickleball courts and a multipurpose shelter. “Plan B hits things. Hits surveys. It seems to hit more of the elements that we want,” he said.
