Nature’s fury has twice tested the resilience of Tipsinah Mounds Golf Course, but each time, the community and its management have risen to the challenge. Founded in 1982, this beloved golf course has weathered not one, but two tornadoes in recent years, in 2020 and again in 2022.

The first storm, in 2020, ripped a corner of the clubhouse’s roof and uprooted 39 trees, particularly affecting holes 17 and 18. Fast forward to 2022, and another tornado tore the roof off the clubhouse, causing significant water damage to the interiors. But as they say, every cloud has a silver lining. The board, having always envisioned a grander clubhouse, saw this as the opportune moment to bring that dream to life. “If there ever was a time to do something, this was it,” remarked Clubhouse Manager Tonya Nelson.
