The football team at West Central area has been combined with Ashby in the past, but thi year they will be playing with all WCA players. The main reason for the dissolution of the cooperative was that with Ashby, they would have been in Class AA, but they were able to move down to Class A.
In 2022 when Ashby was combined with West Central Area, WCA/Ashby finished the season 7-3 and were third in the Midwest Northwest – Gopher-Gold District. They earned the No. 4 seed in the Section 6AA playoffs where they beat Pillager in the first round before losing to Osakis in the section semifinals to end their season.
