Carol Moore passed away September 24, 2023, at Bethany on the Lake in Alexandria, under the gentle care of Hospice of Douglas County at the age of 92 years.

Carol Joyce Peterson was born December 25, 1930, to Keith and Florence (Anderson) Peterson in St. Paul, MN. She attended both grade school and high school in St. Paul, and graduated from St. Paul Johnson High School in 1948. After graduation, she worked several jobs and then worked 6 years at St. Paul’s Gillette Children’s Hospital.

She was introduced to Robert Moore on a blind date and they were married October 30, 1954, at Spring Lake Lutheran Church in Spring Lake, MN. They celebrated 66 years of marriage, until Bob’s death in November of 2020.

The couple settled on a farm in Harris, MN and raised a family of five children. In 1974, the Moore family moved to Hoffman and continued to farm and milk cows. Carol was a partner on the farm, keeping amazing records, washing milking equipment, feeding calves, gardening, canning and making bread. She also had many days of Grandma’s daycare.

Carol was involved in WELCA and was  the janitor at Messiah Luthern Church for a few years. She was involved as a 4-H leader and assisted with Luther League. She totally enjoyed playing Bingo on Friday nights, and continued that passion whenever it was offered in her later years. Carol and Bob joined a bowling league, and had great experiences with their friends over the years. Sometimes traveling to other states to compete in tournaments.

Carol is survived by her children: Charleen Moore of Sioux Falls, SD, Connie (Geary) Olson of Barrett, MN, John (Debbie) Moore of Dover, DE, Paul (Cheri) Moore of Hoffman, MN, daughter-in-law Joan Moore, six grandchildren: Chad Olson, Luke (Andrea) Olson, Jared (Michelle) Olson, Riley Moore, Sarah Moore and fiancé Jack Zeidler, Ashley (Tanner) Thomson, eight great grandchildren: Michaela, Dominic and Violet Olson, Caden and Rilee Thomson, Ainsley and Emma Distel, and Piper Olson, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, son Danny, brother Keith Peterson and her parents.
