Carrol Dean Holmen was born at home in rural Lien Township, just south of Barrett, MN on May 25, 1936.
He passed away peacefully, just 2 1⁄2 weeks shy of his 89th birthday, at his home in Clarkdale, AZ on May 8, 2025, after a brief illness.
Carrol was baptized August 21, 1936 at Our Savior’s Church in Barrett and confirmed at the same church on June 11, 1950.
Carrol lived in the Barrett area for many years farming, doing heavy construction building roads, driveways, ditches and farm sites. He eventually became an over the road trucker, which he did for several decades and drove millions of miles. Carrol lived in MN, MT, NM and finally AZ and remained there during his retirement years.
He is survived by his 4 children, Candace, Peter, Jackie and John; stepson, Eric and his wife Nancy; many grandchildren; two nephews and one niece.
There was a small service at his local church in Clarkdale, AZ and a private interment in Clarkdale.
Carrol was a very kind soul and had a very strong Christian faith and loved his church.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
