Dale Gulbranson, 80, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away December 25, 2022.

A funeral service and graveside service with military honors was held on January 19, 2023, in Colorado Springs, CO. Dale will rest at Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs.

Dale Howard Gulbranson was born on April 6, 1942, in Morris, MN, to Wallace and Irma Gulbranson of Hoffman, MN. He attended school in Hoffman and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He spent more than 20 years servicing in the military, which included two tours in Vietnam. Dale was awarded a Bronze Star for Valor for his part in helping turn back a Viet Cong unit that was attempting to overrun the forward base that was occupied by his company.

He took great pride in his military service, which would eventually lead him to his wife, Yong, while stationed in South Korea. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1980 and made a home in Colorado Springs, CO.

After retiring from the military, Dale attended barber college and eventually opened his own barber shop in Colorado Springs.

Dale will be remembered by his wife of 45 years, Yong; son, Andrew; siblings, Richard “Dick” Gulbranson and Brenda Gulbranson; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Irma; his sister, Joad; and brother, David.
