
Delores Paasch, 89, died on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Alomere Health in Alexandria.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2023, at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at the Anderson Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment at Erdahl Lutheran Church Cemetery in Erdahl.
Delores Ione Paasch was born on July 26, 1933, in Makoti, North Dakota, to William and Sophia (Schutz) Rau. She was baptized in Max, North Dakota and the family moved to Erdahl, Minnesota when she was a young girl. Delores was confirmed at Erdahl Lutheran Church. She graduated high school in Elbow Lake and worked as a waitress in Elbow Lake.
Delores was united in marriage to Erwin Paasch on April 25, 1953, at Erdahl Lutheran Church in Erdahl. To this union the couple was blessed with three children, Duane, Alan, and Lori. The family lived on the farm near Mount Carmel until they moved to Alexandria in 1973. Delores began cleaning homes for families and afterhours for U.S. Bank in Alexandria, continuing with housekeeping for many years. She also worked with Senior Companion for nearly 20 years. One of Delores’ favorite jobs was taking care of her grandchildren. She loved the time she had with them.
Delores enjoyed gardening, dancing, playing cards (especially Whist), playing the pump organ and piano by ear, traveling, lutefisk, being with people, and helping with church luncheons.
She is survived by her son, Duane of Alexandria; son-in-law, Harold Koep of Alexandria; six grandchildren, Stacy (Chad Olson) Paasch, Kayla, Kalan, and Kendon Koep, and Shane and Shayna Hagen; great-grandson, Ty Paasch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Delores is preceded in death by her husband, Ervin; son, Alan Paasch; daughter, Lori Koep; granddaughter, Karina Koep; parents, William and Sophia; step-brothers, Robert Hodges and Richard Hodges; and step-sister, Lucille Dahlen.
