Gerald (Jerry) Paul Schultz, 79, of Herman, MN, passed away on January 11, 2022 of natural causes.

Jerry was born on February 22, 1942, and raised in Herman MN, where he graduated high school in 1960. He married Karen Wojtalewicz, also from Herman, in October of 1960. In 1966, they and their three children moved to Aurora, MN where Jerry worked in construction and maintenance in the mines. The following year they moved to Kalispell, MT, where Jerry worked on an Army Corp of Engineer project until it was completed in 1968. The family then moved to Libby, MT, where Jerry worked on another Army Corp of Engineer project called the Libby Dam Project. When the dam was completed in 1972, the family had grown to four children, and they wanted to stay in Libby to raise them. Jerry began a new career as a professional logger.

In 1976, Karen and Jerry divorced. Both stayed in Libby to continue to raise their children. Jerry retired in 2005, and in 2009 he moved back to Herman to help look after his mother Rita. In 2015, Rita passed away and Jerry stayed at the family home until he passed away. A celebration of life was held in July of 2022.

He is survived by sons Brian (Tracy) Schultz, Craig (Shelley) Schultz; daughters Shay Pitts and Theresa (Eric) Proctor; brothers Nick (Jan) Schultz and Steve Schultz; sisters Kathy (Dave) Snell and Sandy (Jim) Hasal; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
