
Marilyn Kay Olsen, 71, of Herman, MN, passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her family on September 13, 2021.Funeral Services were held Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Morris, MN, with Rev. Michael Hanson officiating. Visitation were held one hour prior to service time at the church.A private family burial will take place at a later date.Marilyn was born on May 16, 1950, to Everett and Helen (Musch) Asmussen in Clear Lake, SD. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1968. Marilyn was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Altamont, SD. She attended grade school in the one room schoolhouse, Mortz #33.Marilyn married Jeffrey Peter Olsen on August 3, 1968, in Clear Lake, SD. She loved children, birds, butterflies, and her great friends. She also loved her Seabee husband Jeff and her children and grandchildren. They made her life happy and fulfilled.Marilyn touched the lives of dozens of kids she cared for over her thirty plus years of providing in-home daycare. These children also touched Marilyn’s life. She loved each child with all her heart, never forgetting even one. She enjoyed following their lives and watching them grow, starting their own families, and always believing kids should be allowed to be “kids”.Marilyn is survived by her husband Jeff Olsen of Herman, MN; children: Troy (Stephanie) Olsen of Big Lake, MN; Michelle Olsen of Wheaton, MN; Danielle (Wade) Tufte of Fargo, ND; and Jeffrey (Amanda) Olsen of Wheaton, MN; grandchildren: Rileigh, Hannah, Grace, Kahne, Faith, Caden, and Easton.Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Everett and Helen (Musch) Asmussen; siblings: Lynne Thomas; and Wendell Asmussen both of Gary, SD.To sign the online guestbook or watch the video tribute visit <www.bainbridgefuneralhome.com>.
