Morris “Butch” Christians, 76, of Sioux Falls, SD, died at Sanford Hospital on January 28, 2023 from a fall at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.,  at the Herman Community Center, 416 Atlantic Ave S, Herman, MN

Butch was born April 29, 1946 in Sibley, IA to Harold and Louise (Bohnert) Christians from Little Rock, IA. Butch attended school in Little Rock and at the age of 16 he moved with his family to Herman, MN. He graduated from Herman High School in 1964.

Butch was married for 46 wonderful years to the love of his life Marilyn. Together they had two children – Kyle and Ashley. Butch brought two children- Jennifer and Mark to this union.

Butch worked for a local farmer in Herman, they worked for Grant County Highway department for 33 years. He retired in April 2010.

Butch enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, hunting, and all sports. He also enjoyed cooking and was a great baker. But most of all Butch enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. After Butch’s retirement, they moved to Sioux Falls, SD to be closer to family.

Butch is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marilyn; son, Kyle; daughters, Ashley and Jennifer; and grandchildren: Ethan, Abraham, and Hope.  He is also survived by sister, Cheryl (Jerry) Amborn; sister-in-law Maryann Christians (Les);  brothers-in-law Chuck (Linda) Schmidt, Alan (Nancy) Schmidt, Dave Rivers; sisters-in-law: Cheryl Toutges, Terry (Butch) DeVries, Denise (Ron) Derby, Cork (Craig) Loge, Karla (Chuck) Dahlheimer, Kim (Randy) Buchholz; and many nieces and nephews.

Butch is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Louise; father-in-law Orville Schmidt; son Mark; siblings Merle, Connie, and Leon; and sister-in-law Barb Rivers.
