Beyers both place top-10 in girls Class A state golf tournament

Paige and Aspen Beyer represented the Border West golf team at the girls Class A state golf tournament at Pebble Creek June 11-12. Both Buccaneers were able to end the two-day tournament in the top-10. Junior Paige Beyer got on the medal stand tied for third and senior Aspen Beyer placed 10th.

Due to weather conditions on the second day, the tournament was called through 16 holes to make the championship 34 holes in total.

The girls were able to get a full round on June 11. Paige Beyer played lights out and fired a 76 to lead the tournament individually by two shots after 18 holes. Aspen Beyer was not far behind in a tie for third by carding an 80 on day one.

On the final day of the state tournament, all the competitors were only able to finish 16 holes before weather forced the tournament to be called early. Through 16 holes, Paige Beyer was 13-over on day two. Paige Beyer finished 17-over for the tournament to tie for third. Aspen Beyer was 14-over through 16 holes on the second day. In total, Aspen Beyer was 22-over to finish 10th alone. Dawson-Boyd’s Lindsey Lund won the state tournament with an 11-over mark.
