The Border West football team was one of 10 teams to compete at the University of Minnesota Morris nine-man camp last Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, July 17-19, at Big Cat in Morris.

Over 200 athletes attended the camp, Bucs head coach James Paul said.

“We had 29 campers and three commuters making 32 athletes attending camp for the Bucs,” Paul noted. “Fantastic numbers!”

Border West took big steps to help make the inaugural season a successful one, Paul continued. “We made improvements throughout camp during our scrimmages and 7 on 7s and took second place in our pool during live action in the Battle for Big Cat, losing to the eventual champs MIB,” Paul said.

The Bucs also had three earn spots on the All Camp Team, including quarterback Marshall Tolifson, linebacker Kevin Casper and defensive back Peyton Forcier.
