The Border West football team traveled to Morris recently for the University of Minnesota Morris 9-man Team Camp July 15-17. The Bucs had a chance to work with college coaches throughout the camp and Border West finished the camp with numerous recognitions for their players and team.

During the course of the camp, players were recognized with Hustle Drinks for the athletes who worked the hardest during individual practices with college coaches. The Bucs finished the week with 10 of those awards. Those earning Hustle Drinks included: Brayden Andrews, Tryg Olson, Blake Fuhrman, Teagan Cardwell, Ernest Jibben, Jacob Drewicke, Holden Rinke, Brody Nachbor and Jacob Blume.

The camp also recognized All-Camp Winners, which were given to the top players at their position. Border West earned two of those awards with Nachbor earning the award at running back and Peyton Forcier earning the title at defensive back.

After individual workouts, the teams came together for the Battle of Big Cat, which was live competition against other teams. Border West had their offense humming and were able to score on five of their six offensive possessions in the period.

The work the Bucs did during the team camp in July will help jump start the team when they report for their first practices in August.
