Just before the winter break, the Border West Buccaneer wrestling team made the trip to Battle Lake on December 21 to take on Otter Tail Central. The Bucs had their way with the Bulldogs and took home a 46-27 victory before they went on break. Border West finished the match with five pins and a major decision in the six matches they won on the mat.

The match started a little hairy for the Bucs with losses in the first two weight classes to fall behind 9-0 early.

Border West responded with five straight wins, all of them earning six points for the team and putting the Bucs up 30-9. Brock Martig, Tucker Hennessy, Zach Rikimoto and Gunner Hennessy all earned pins at 127, 133, 139 and 145 pounds. Jude Olson picked up a win by forfeit at 145 pounds.
