The Border West Buccaneer football team earned the second seed in the Section 4 nine-player playoffs. The Bucs were able to take care of business in the first two rounds to advance to the title game. First, Border West took down the eighth seed Ortonville in Wheaton Oct. 24 in a 53-21 blowout. In the semifinals, the Bucs were at home again Oct. 28 when they were locked in a defensive battle with Underwood. Border West did just enough to come away with a 14-6 win and advance to the championship game.

It did not take long for this game to be decided with the Bucs against the Trojans. The score started to get lopsided in the first quarter. Brayden Andrews opened the scoring with a 22-yard touchdown catch from Marshall Tolifson. Tolifson then threw his second touchdown of the day on a 17-yard pass to Kevin Casper. Before the first quarter ended, Brody Nachbor scored on a 17-yard run to make it 24-0 after one quarter.
Border West continued to grow their advantage in the second quarter. Nachbor scored his second and third touchdowns of the game on a four-yard and a 56-yard run to make it 37-0 at the halftime break.
