
The WCA girls’ basketball team moved forward in the Section 6A tournament with wins last week over the Ashby Arrows, 62-43, on Thursday and over the CGB Wolverines, 52-32, on Saturday. The Knights are the #1 seed in the south sub-section.
The wins kept the Knights moving forward into the south sub-section championship game where they’ll square off with the Hancock Owls (#2 seed) on Wednesday, March 4, at 6 p.m. at the U of M, Morris. The Knights and Owls met twice during the regular season and split the two games, with the Knights winning the first game, 67-49, and losing the second, 48-51.
In the North Sub-Section, #1 seeded Henning and #2 seeded Underwood will play for the title following the Knights/Owls matchup on Thursday night. The winners of those two games will meet on Friday, March 6, at 7:00 p.m. at the U of M, Morris for the Section 6A Championship and the rite to play in the State Tournament.
