
The West Central Area Knights boys basketball team upped their record to 14-3 on the season with an 83-33 win over the Ortonville Trojans on Friday, Feb. 4, in Ortonville.
The Knights had balance in their scoring with three finishing in double figures. Cole Anderson had a game-high 18 points to go with eight rebounds and two assists. Ryder Staples had 13 points with five rebounds, two assists, three steals, and one charge taken. Jacob Strunk tallied 10 points with eight rebounds, two assists, and three steals.
WCA hit 36-72 shots for 50 percent in the game while holding the Trojans to 32 percent on 12-for-38 from the floor.
The Knights dominated the rebounding and turnover battles as well. The Knights had a commanding 44-19 advantage on the boards and forced 27 Trojan turnovers while committing only nine.
Cam Anderson, though not in double figures, had an impressive stat line as well. He finished with eight points, six rebounds, eight assist and two steals. Nasir Dotts added eight points as well with four rebounds, two assists, and four steals.
Owen Longnecker led the Trojans with 17 points.
WCA played Hancock Monday, Feb. 7, and Parkers Prairie Tuesday, Feb. 8. The Knights will now travel to Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Friday, Feb. 11, before traveling to Henning Tuesday, Feb. 15.
