The Knights boys’ basketball team finished the season strong with wins over Brandon-Evansville, 71-42, on Thursday night, and over Underwood, 76-44, on Friday night. Thursday’s win over Brandon-Evansville secured the Pheasant Conference Championship for the Knights. The two wins moved the Knights’ season mark to 24-2.
The Knights earned the #1 seed in the Section 6A South sub-section and will begin what they hope will be a long run in the playoffs this Thursday. They’ll start the tournament by hosting the winner of Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg (#8 seed) versus Ortonville (#9 seed).
Other Section 6A tournament games will include #2 Parkers Prairie versus #7 Wheaton/Herman-Norcross or #10 Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley; #3 Hancock versus #6 Battle Lake; and #4 Ashby versus #5 Brandon-Evansville. Thursday’s winners will meet at U of M Morris on Saturday afternoon. If the Knights win on Thursday, they will play on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with the other semi-final game to follow.
