The West Central Area / Ashby / Brandon-Evansville Knights wrestling team hosted the Section 6A Team Section Tournament Friday, Feb. 17. The Knights were seeded No. 1 in the section and dominated their way through the tournament with wins over Ottertail Central, New York Mills and Bertha-Hewitt / Verndale / Parkers Prairie to claim their second-straight section title and earn a bid to the Class A State Tournament.
In the quarterfinal 66-10 win over Ottertail Central, the Knights won 12 of the 14 matches, including three by forfeit. Evan Dingwall (106), Owen Gruchow (113), Tucker McGee (120), Solomon Wales (145), Kolby Peters (152), Hunter Gruchow (160) and Ezekiel Sieckert (170) all won by pinfall over their opponents. Owen Gruchow had a nine-second pin for the fastest fall of the dual.
