Knights grapplers go 2-1

Provided by Brandon Gruchow Anthony Sykora now holds the school record for Career Varsity wins.Sykora earned his 205th win Tuesday evening to break the all-time win record held since 2009 by Jake Long.

The West Central Area / Ashby / Brandon-Evansville wrestling team went 2-1 on the mat last week. The Knights split at the BOLD triangular Tuesday, Jan. 24, beating the host Warriors and falling to Minneota. Then on Friday, Jan. 27, WCA/A/B-E beat Detroit Lakes in a single dual, in Detroit Lakes.

The Knights next wrestle at the ACGC quadrangular Thursday, Feb. 2 against ACGC, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa and Royalton. The Knights close out the week at the West Central Conference tournament Saturday, Feb. 4, in Kimball.

BOLD triangular

The Knights split at the BOLD triangular Tuesday, Jan. 24, in Olivia. WCA/A/B-E beat the host BOLD 66-15 before falling to Minneota 41-31.

Owen Gruchow, Carter Lohse, Solomon Wales, Anthony Sykora and Beau Robinson all went 2-0 on the day. Gruchow, Wales and Sykora all had two pins at the triangular.
