The top five teams are seeded in the Class A tournament and the Knights earned the fifth seed and drew the fourth seed New Life Academy of Woodbury. The Eagles came into the match as the Section 4A champions and had a record of 20-10, compared to the Knights 23-9 record coming in. It was a close matchup on paper, and that proved to be true on the court with NLA just sneaking by the Knights 3-2.

It was a game of runs in the first set of the match with neither team able to gain a comfortable advantage. NLA eventually gained a four-point lead at 14-10, but the Knights would not go away. WCA trimmed the lead to one-point, but once again NLA went on another run of four straight points to open up their largest lead of the set at 18-13, forcing the Knights to take a timeout.
