The Knights’ boys’ basketball team won their first two games of the Section 6A playoffs last week to move into the semi-final round Monday. The top-seeded Knights first defeated the #8 seeded KMS Saints last Thursday night, 89-53, in front of a large and loud home crowd. Then, they moved on to the U of M, Morris on Saturday afternoon where they dismissed the Ashby Arrows (#4) from the playoffs, 73-55.
The Knights will now face the Hancock Owls (#3 seed) who knocked off Parkers Prairie (#2 seed) in overtime on Saturday. WCA and Hancock faced-off on Monday night at Concordia College, in Moorhead, for the South Sub-Section Championship.
The North Sub-Section Championship will be decided just prior to the Knights’ game, at 6:00 p.m., when Henning (27-1) will play Mahnomen-Wauban (17-10).
