The WCA volleyball team was in action twice last week and finished with a pair of sweep losses. The team started off on their home floor against Underwood and despite three competitive sets, were swept 3-0. Two days later, WCA went on the road to BOLD and lost 3-0 to the Warriors in a very similarly competitive sweep loss.

In a non-conference matchup, the Knights welcomed the Underwood Rockets to Barrett and dropped the game in just three sets.
All three of the sets were competitive with the Knights and Rockets trading blows back and forth, but Underwood took control late in each of the sets to win 25-19 in all three sets to complete the sweep. WCA shot themselves in the foot too many times, finishing with 29 kills as a team, but 31 hitting errors and also added eight service errors on the night. “It’s quite difficult to win matches when we can’t find the floor. Nonetheless, serve receive was much improved from the last game versus Minnewaska,” head coach Missy Foslien said.
Jaclynn Nelson led the team on offense with 12 kills and Tenley Strunk added nine. Hannah Olson led the squad with 11 assists and Emily Strunk added 10.
At the service line, WCA had six aces with two from Karleigh Brendmon and one from Tenley Strunk, Breanna Bennett, Olson and Nelson.
On defense, Tenley Strunk led the way with 14 digs, Brendmoen added 10 and Nelson dug out nine. At the net, Emily Strunk and Nelson both had a block.
