The Knights’ boys’ basketball team advanced all the way to the Section 6A Championship game last week before falling, 57-45, to the defending state champion Henning Hornets. The Knights were victorious, 68-47, over the Hancock Owls, on Monday night at Concordia College in Moorhead, to win the Section 6A South Sub-Section. That win set up the showdown against Henning on Thursday night, also at Concordia.
WCA’s season ended with a 27-3 record. Two of their losses came against Henning and the other came against Osakis, a state-ranked team in AA. Meanwhile, Henning moved to 29-1 on the season and earned a berth in the State Basketball Tournament, which had been scheduled to take place this week, but has since then been cancelled due to Coronavirus.
