The Knights’ girls’ basketball team defeated the Hancock Owls, 56-43, at the U of M, Morris last Wednesday night to claim the Section 6A South Sub-Section Championship. Two nights later, they battled the Henning Hornets in the Section 6A Championship game and fell just short of a trip to the State Tournament, losing, 56-50. The Knights led by as many as 12 points and led, 45-43, with 5:00 left in the game, but eventually relinquished their lead and finally lost by six.
The WCA girls had another impressive season as they claimed 22 victories and lost just eight times in a very competitive schedule. They won the Pheasant Conference Championship, and the South Sub-Section Championship along the way.
