With a large portion of their varsity team from a season ago returning to the squad this season, the Tiger girls tennis program is looking to continue their steady improvement into the 2026 season and have already started off with 3-0 quadrangular win to open the season at Mora High School.
Last season, the MACA/WCA girls tennis team finished the regular season with a 11-6 overall record and earned the two seed of the Section 3A team tournament. The Tigers picked up dominating shutout wins over MACCRAY and Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd in the first two rounds to advance to the section finals. The luck ran out for MACA/WCA when they fell 5-2 to the top-seeded Montevideo Thunderhawks just one match short of state as a team.
In the 2025 West Central Conference meet, the MACA/WCA team did not have any first place finishers, but did have five of their seven players/doubles teams finish in the top-three of their bracket. Lydia Sweep finished third in the one singles bracket, Izabell Hoffman finished third at two singles. In the three singles tournament, Sam Konz was in second place. In doubles, Molly Wayne and Allison Nohl placed third place in one doubles. Lilia Asmus and Ruby Lhotka played three doubles and finished second for the Tigers.
