The Dumont town team had a light week with just one game on the schedule. They were on the road against the Madison Mallards June 28. Despite Madison finishing the game with more than twice as many hits, Dumont was able to finish the game with a 6-3 win.

The Saints struck in the top of the first when a single from Mason Lampe scored Brody Nachbor to make it 1-0.

In the top of the third, a triple from Nachbor scored Pat Kussatz, Tori Uhlich and Jordon Roos. Two batters later, a sacrifice fly from Isaiah Sykora allowed Nachbor to score from third to make it 5-0.

The Mallards finally got on the board in the bottom of the third with one run. Madison scored two more in the fourth to make it 5-3.

Dumont got a bit more breathing room in the top of the sixth. With one out, Sykora hit a solo homer to left field to give the Saints a 6-3 lead.

The final three innings went by with neither team getting on the scoreboard, giving the Saints a three-run win.

The Mallards finished the game with a 12-5 advantage in hits. Sykora finished the game 2 for 3 with a homer, two RBI and a run. Nachbor went 1 for 3 with a triple, three RBI and two runs. Tori Uhlich was 1 for 3 with a run. Lampe finished 1 or 4 with an RBI.

Lampe pitched six innings and allowed three runs off 11 hits and struck out eight. Roos pitched three innings and gave up no runs off one hit and struck out six.

The team will have a couple weeks off until they will be back with a road game against Hancock on Saturday, July 13 and another road game against Cottonwood on Sunday, July 14.
