
The West Central Area Knight volleyball team added two wins to improve to 3-0 on the young season. The Knights swept Rothsay in their home opener Tuesday, Aug. 31, in Barrett, then swept Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thursday, Sept. 2, in Long Prairie.
The Knights play at Ashby Thursday, Sept. 9.

The Knights won 25-8, 26-16, 25-19 in the home opener over Rothsay on Tuesday, Aug. 31, in Barrett.
“Aggressive serving and hitting in game one got the Knights off to a quick start against Rothsay. We really controlled the tempo in game one and two. We got on some serving runs and Elizabeth Rustan and Mya Foslien really came out strong, both swinging from the outside,” Knight coach Missy Foslien said.
Mya Foslien had six aces in the game.
Macy Grosz had 25 set assists.
Madelyn Westrom had 13 digs while Grosz, Liz Rustan, and Kaitlyn Hansen supplied eight each.
Rustan led the team with 16 kills.

The Knights swept Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 25-15, 25-14, 25-9 on Thursday, Sept. 2, in Long Prairie.
“Despite the poor night at the service line they pulled off another win, but it wasn’t the performance they wanted. It was a hard game to find flow and consistency,” Foslien said.
