WCA boys golf wins West Central Conference

The WCA boys and girls golf teams approached the end of their regular season last week. The team played in the final WCC conference meet in Montevideo May 13. The boys were able to secure the conference championship with a second place finish. Next, the team stayed on their home course at Tipsinah Mounds Golf Course for the Ashby/Brandon-Evansville meet where the boys set a new school record with a team score of 304 and the girls also won their team event. It was two more team wins for the boys and girls when they played in the Ottertail Central meet at Thumper Pond Golf Course on May 16.

Montevideo WCC meet

The WCA boys finished second at Montevideo on Monday to earn 59 points for the season, which included five firsts, two seconds and one fourth in the WCC conference. The conference awards eight points each meet for first, seven for second and so on. Team season standings were WCA 59, Morris 52, Minnewaska 50, Melrose 42, Benson 26, Sauk Centre 26, BOLD 19 and Montevideo 12.
