After a 3-6 season in 2023, the West Central Football team held their annual postseason banquet to honor all of their players and to hand out awards.

This season was the first for the players without being paired with Ashby. According to head coach Nate Wood, this season was like any other with ups and downs throughout the year. While it was different without the Ashby players, it was a unique experience with many players from both teams supporting their former teammates. Ashby players would come to the WCA games when they could and the WCA players attended Ashby/Brandon-Evansville games. “Football is a brotherhood and even if you play on different teams, there is still shared experience,” coach Wood said.

The Knights did have to battle a number of major injuries throughout their roster. While it was not ideal, it did allow for some younger players to step up and prove themselves on the field throughout the year.

At the end of the season, the Knights finished with two players earning All Section in 6A including Adam Lohse and Nas Dotts.

In the Gopher Gold District, Sam Hanson and Will Rustan were named to the All-District team. Brady Lindquist and Ben Nyreen earned All-District Honorable Mention honors.
