The wait was finally over for West Central Area football, they had finally made it to their season opener in Barrett against Polk County West Aug. 31. Both teams had a little rust on the offensive side of the ball, but both defenses had things at a midseason level. With all the points coming in the second half, the Knights did just enough in the fourth quarter to come out ahead on the scoreboard and pick up their first win of the season 14-8.
