WCA track and field compete in one meet last week in Benson

In their final meet before the West Central Conference Championships, the West Central Area track team met in Benson for the Benson/KMS meet May 9. The girls team finished the meet in fifth place out of nine teams and the boys came in eighth.

The girls finished the meet in fifth place as a team with 66 points and MACCRAY/RCW won the meet with 139.5 points. 

In the shot put, Maci Robinson finished second with a throw of 32’ 3’’ and Callie Glawe was right behind her in third with a 31’ 4’’. Terina Blascyk was second in the high jump with 5’. Sydney Ulrich finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 31’ 3’’. In the 100, In the 100, Keira Gehrke was third with a time of 13.38 and Ulrich came in seventh with 13.79. Skylar LaRue finished sixth in the 800 by clocking a 2:43.20. In the long jump, Ulrich finished fifth with a distance of 14’ 4.5’’ and Jayden Styba was eighth with 13’ 8’’. In the 1,600, Kara Schmall finished sixth with 6:33.55 and Blaire Rueter came in seventh with a 6:33.71. In the discus, Glawe finished sixth with a distance of 81’ 3’’ and Robinson was eighth with 77’ 10’’. Alexa Blume came in seventh in the 400 with a time of 1:07.90. In the relays, WCA finished fifth in the 4×100 with a time of 55.04, fifth in the 4×200 with 1:57 and sixth in the 4×400 with 5:01.06.
